I've been using this on multi-pitch climbs in the Alps for the last few months. It's perfect for the job. All the winter type attachements are removable. The waist-belt too. This leaves a sac that is perfect when climbing. You don't know it is there. Your harness is full accessible too. It can cope with carrying a rack, rope, food and clothing. The helmet carrier is an essential addition. I've carried 2 ropes for a couple of hours too and it can just about deal with that. However, that is probably pushing the limit a little. Despite that abuse, and a couple of chimneys, all seams remain intact and the fabric too.
